We were blown away when we walked into our (superior double) room; Really beautiful decor, grand, spacious and spotlessly clean. Very easy key entry system for accessing the hotel after closing time which was helpful for when you are out late. Free WiFi too which is always a bonus. There is a pub and nice little breakfast room on the ground floor of the hotel. Friendly staff. Laid back feel. We really enjoyed our stay and found it to be very good value for money.
Had a delightful experience in the hotel! Staff is awesome, breakfast good, room very clean and comfy. Not one complaint. The hotel is right in the city center, in the roundabout around the Clock Tower, which means there's nowhere to park. Right by the door there's a bus stop, so it's tricky even to unload bags, if you are like me and travel with a thousand baby stuff. That said, staff suggested you won't get a ticket if you do park to get bags on and off. There's a cheap (very cheap.. like £6/week) parking up the road and also in the Co-op the street above. I had no issue parking in Easter bank holiday. The pub itself is nice, but I didn't eat there. Right next door there's a club. I couldn't hear anything in my room on the second floor, but would ask about it just in case. The pizza in the corner is not great, but can do the trick if needed.

We enjoyed our stay of three nights very much indeed. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed both the walk in shower and the bath. Espresso coffee machine in the room was a really nice touch. Breakfast was a delight, as was dinner. The wine cellar was in a class of its own. Plus the staff were all very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. We will be back!
What an amazing find!! We booked here as a stopover travelling back from Cornwall. So glad we did. Tudor farmhouse is EXACTLY how a hotel should be run. The accommodation and location is gorgeous, nothing is too much trouble and the decor is excellent. We stayed for the one night and opted for dinner. As with breakfast - only the best produce is used. This is pretty much typical of this accommodation - from the food to the decor you can tell the owners strive for perfection. Well guys, you did it! Thank you for a great stay. We’ll definitely be back very soon!

We have been occasional visitors over a number of years and when in the area regularly go to the Dog and Muffler. It is tucked away in Joyford just outside Christchurch and Berry Hill. It is rightly popular and although reasonably spacious it is as well to book before hand if you want to eat there. The menu has an adequate range of options and is reasonably priced and the food is home cooked and good. There is a large dining area and a smaller comfortable bar room plus a separate restaurant area and plenty of outdoor tables and benches for fine weather. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and it has proved a reliable and comfortable place to go for a meal and a drink for many a year. The number of local clientele that go there gives a hint that the Dog and Muffler has a well earned reputation as a good place to go.
Beautiful location with great outside space so good if you have children who need to run around! Has a lot of character and food never disappoints. Mid range prices bit good value. Popular with locals and holiday makers.

The best chilli con carne that I’ve ever tasted. Fast, friendly service and excellent value for money. My family inc 2 dogs will definitely return when we next visit Forest holidays. Thank you.
Superb local pub with very fair prices for food. Staff exceptionally friendly, we are very lucky to have it as our local.

We love staying at Mailscot view, its a real home from home and in a perfect location to explore the forest. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the new extended patio is great to relax in and the forest is literally on the doorstep.
Had a lovely week at mailscot view cottage. Comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. Lots of nice walks in the woods behind the cottage with plenty of wildlife to see.

Forest of Dean Lodges are excellent and the Forest of Dean is beautiful at any time of the year. I stayed at Danby lodge. I've used the pictures off their website, they are better than mine. Excellent holiday.
Beautiful accommodation in idyllic surroundings...

A wonderful area to visit and a very warm and friendly welcome from John and Gillian. The B&B and self catering cottages are amazing - really clean and attractive, with everything you need - highly recommend it!
Quiet simply a one of the best places we have stayed at, off the grid and surrounded by nothing but lovely! Going again for sure!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

A brilliant setting in the heart of the Forest. Ideal for little one's as you're only seconds away from some very close and easy walks. Plus there's some great off track bits that the kids can explore without the need for helicopter parenting!! Great facilities and the staff were extremely helpful no matter what the question
Stunning site in the forest. Wardens just couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Great walks in the forest and some stunning sunsets made for a great few days stay.

Utterly amazing! Recently refurbished to high standard. The whole place is spotless and always staff on hand. Lovely swimming pool, fun nightlife all pitches good size and electric hook up. The perfect place for kids and adults in sun and rain. Can't recommend enough.
A nice location to go camping with the family and friends. Everything is clean, tidy and in working order. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the several play areas. A point that could be useful if you are using the power hook ups for camping that you might need a longer than normal connection lead if you are in one the further pitches.
