Forest Hills Golf Club

Mile End Rd, Coleford GL16 7QD, UK – 01594 810620

Had a great time on the front 9, wasn't crowded great golf course for amateurs with some challenges and plenty of wide fairways. All in good condition and was able to take my time without a big queue in front or behind.

The food is always superb and the staff are so warm and friendly. Every time I have eaten here we have all had such a great time! Great value for money!

Bells Hotel & Country Club

Lord's Hill, Coleford GL16 8BE, UK – 01594 832583

Good base for our bowls tour. Staff extremely helpful. Food good too.

This is a very good hotel, the staff are very helpful, friendly & welcoming. The breakfast is good but could be improved by adding a wider variety of cereals & fruits could be varied every few days. On the cooked breakfast they could try doing mushrooms & hash browns. (personal preference as I have a severe intolerance to any meat from a pig). The rooms are very hot! Especially when it's hot & sunny outside & they have radiators on in the hallway!! The rooms are kept mostly clean & comfortable by the capable housekeeping staff. One of the problems I had was that the TV in my 2nd room didn't work properly it kept breaking up & I wasn't able to access any itv channels, channel 4, or channel 5. I reported this & apparently a man came & replaced the cable & got all the channels back, but when I tried it I didn't get the channels & so reported it to receptionist again, she then came & had a look for herself & couldn't understand it because the maintenance man had got it to work properly! She thought it may be caused by the solar panels & the heat! When I asked about it again the next day I was told that they were sorry, but they couldn't get an engineer out til Mon. (the day I was going home), when I'd reported it on the previous Weds.! In the disabled persons room (32)the shower has a mind of it's own & changes temperature at will! I was scalded & frozen in equal measure most days, as no one seemed to be able to fix it! In the restaurant the food they produce in the evening is very good & is always hot when it should be. Which you don't always get in a lot of places! The restaurant manager & staff were all very friendly, polite & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I must also mention the beauty salon, on site, where I had the most amazing, relaxing massage & facial I've ever had! The lady who looked after me was very kind, caring & attentive. Thank you so very much. Over all I really enjoyed my stay here.
